West Bengal’s municipalities are launching an application on the blockchain.
Lynked.world Netherlands-based company has developed the platform.
Starting from September 2018 Durgapur and Bankura Municipalities Corporation will issue birth certificates and other legal documents using the platform.
Arun Kumar, CEO, Lynked.wolrd , said.
“These Birth and other certificates would be digitally authenticated by issuing authorities (municipalities), and that authentication will be stored on blockchain which facilitates verification of these documents by any third party organization to whom owners provide access.”
The idea is to reduce time while verifying legal documents which overall will bring administrative operations efficiencies.
LYNK token will be used to allow citizens to make applications process.
A digital wallet app will be provided for storing other personal information like medical reports, academic degrees, passports, driver’s licenses, etc.
