Mongolia’s first official digital currency gets green lights.

Candy the e-currency issued by Mongolia’s biggest mobile telecoms Mobicom’s non-bank financial arm Mobifinance became the first company to acquire the certificate for issuing digital currency.

Montsame the official state media outlet reported on Friday, September 28.

 

The Bank of Mongolia introduce a new set of regulations about digital currency along with the passing bill on the National payment system, augur a new era of ‘Digital currency’s new method of payment.

 

“As digital currencies have begun to circulate, ATMs and cards will become a thing of the past as well.” CEO of Mobicom Corporation Tatsuya Hamada said.

The guideline for participation, processes for permits, rights, and duties of customers and service providers has been put forward by the central bank in early April.

Candy currently is already an ecosystem where the Mongolian consumers may use it as a mode of payment for various goods and services within a range of partnering businesses.
